Tips for Protecting Your Property

  • Bring in outdoor furniture, potted plants, yard art or anything else that is not tied down to prevent injury and/or damage from flying debris.
  • Trim trees and shrubs, paying particular attention to dead limbs.   High winds can turn branches into dangerous projectiles.
  • Reduce property damage by retrofitting or reinforcing roof, windows and doors.
  • When constructing a new home or upgrading an existing home, consider elevating the structure and using flood damage resistance materials to better protect against floodwaters and/or storm surge.  This is an important consideration when thinking about Flood Insurance in Florida.
